Description
Karisma is, in a way, a natural approach to skin rejuvenation and overall anti-age therapy, including the filling for shallow skin depressions. Using the body’s own power to produce collagen it helps by lifting sagging tissues, smoothing out the upper dermis via restoring volume and by improving overall elasticity and skin strength.
At the core of this are deep hydration and collagen production boost. Karisma introduces large amounts of non-crosslinked Hyaluronic acid into the skin. This is a quick method to improve moisturization, as HA molecules can retain hundreds of times their own weight in water. To extended the process, the carboxymethylcellulose drastically slows down the effect of hyaluronidase, the enzyme which dissolves HA molecules. Deep hydration is not only the most basic form of aged skin treatment and method to regain softness and smoothness (dry and rough skin being the common problems of aged skin), but it also predisposes the fibroblasts to produce collagen more effectively.
The latter in unlocked by introducing a special peptide into the extracellular matrix of the dermis – r-Polypeptide α1 chain. It is fundamental to the whole process of collagen synthesis. From inducing the fibroblasts to do it, to ensuring that the correct type of high-quality collagen is synthesized – strong triple helix conformation built from the strains of procollagen molecules.
Buildup of collagen in the ECM allows for the restoration of supporting structures, which pull the previously sagging skin up. Additionally, elasticity is immensely improved and the overall effect, including filling the skin depressions with collagen can be anywhere from six to twelve months.
